Day 298

Catch up time! Holidays! Cutting! Sewing! Babies!

I love Canada Day; it’s the one day a year all us quiet, polite Canadians geek out and PROUDLY display pride for our country. This year my girls went all out planning their outfits right down to the colour-co-ordinated underwear. I told them no one would check but they were adamant.

July 1st is also exactly half-way through the year. Let’s celebrate with fireworks!

July 1st is the day the July birthday folk announced their choices in the birthday charm swap. This month we have an orange/blue request, a modern tone on tone request, and an any-colour-is-fine-but-only-five-squares-per-fabric. I cut lots of these last night…why is cutting fabrics so satisfying?

Initial fabric pull for Amanda. I didn’t try to make a rainbow, it just happened!

Today I spent my alone-without-kids-time working on a much delayed group project for a friend. Outside borders attached – check! Backing pieced – check! I’ve been stuck on this one for a while so it feels very good to move ahead.

And my friend Sarah had her first baby today. Yay for babies!

  1. Very nice fabrics to cut into charms. I spent a very quiet Canada day….but I was ready for some quiet after spending last weekend partying at a wedding in Montreal.
