And some non-progress too

I would much rather be sewing more Jacob’s Ladder blocks but somehow there isn’t enough time to cut fabric let alone sew it. I blame too many work hours, Easter (another hellish holiday for cake decorators), and a soon to be eleven year old who wants ALLLLLL the things for her birthday. Yes, I do have problems with life/work balance.

So in the “I have ten minutes to spare” category I pulled out all my stars from the wonky star swap. The last set arrived a week or two ago. Mmm, maybe three weeks ago. I hadn’t put any of them together so that is what I did tonight.

Seen all together they look much better than I had imagined in my head, opening one set at a time. If I ever make progress on this project I predict I will perfect my Y-seams.

  1. Hi Nicole,
I think all of these wonky stars look great together, but I can imagine your thoughts as you see them in small groups. Your Jacob’s Ladder blocks look fabulous as well. I can’t wait to see both of these projects and they progress. Easter will be over in just a few minutes for you now! ~smile~ Roseanne

  2. Love these wonky stars. I still don’t do a lot of Y-seams on the machine, but it is not that hard if you have a good machine with a needle down. The thought of Easter cakes is making me hungry.

  3. Those stars are going to make an awesome quilt. If you get frustrated with the Y seams, you can cheat. I wouldn’t be above taking out part of a seam, so that you can get away with a partial seam instead of a y. (Sometimes cheaters do win).
