I know that’s a lame dad joke but I still like it.
Aaaages ago I promised to give away scraps (jazz hands!) to a randomly drawn person who correctly identified this block as a Jacob’s Ladder.
That post had eleven comments, six of which named the Jacob’s Ladder block. I printed the comments, cut out the ones with Jacob’s Ladder, folded them up, and drew Anja’s comment.
So there we go! Thank you everyone for liking my first block of this quilt. I now have 36% of the blocks sewn and an additional 16 blocks cut out. I am loving the very saturated colours I’ve chosen.
* Winner Winner Chicken Dinner
Urban Dictionary claims that years ago every casino in Las Vegas had a three-piece chicken dinner with a potato and a veggie for $1.79. A standard bet back then was $2, hence when you won a bet you had enough for a chicken dinner.
Anja, we will chat about just how many scraps (jazz hands!) you want.
1.56% done, 98.44% to go.
And I’m going to do a giveaway! First person to correctly name this block will get scraps. Loads of scraps.
But if it’s a dead easy block to name then I will draw from all the correct answers. Prize is still loads of scraps.
Winner winner, chicken dinner has just GOT to be the most non-sensical phrase ever, but I have wanted to write that for about four+ years now. Katy from “I’m a Ginger Monkey” used to write that for her giveaways. I’m rambling.
Time to pick a winner for my recent Sew Mama Sew Giveaway day post.
I used the random.org number generator which chose comment #56.
My blog doesn’t number comments but I do know there are 50 per page, so starting on the second page and counting down six…
we get KAT’s comment!
Congratulations Kat and thanks to everyone (all 163 of you!) who left a comment for me.
Well hurrah! The December edition of the Sew Mama Sew Giveaway day is now done. It was my first time around the block for this one and what a treat it was. I had 423 views (WOW!), 163 comments on this tiny new blog (including someone I know from real life!), and 2 new followers (hello new followers!).
I just need to figure out how to number the darn comments before I’ll pick a winner and mail them their prize. Earlier today I asked W. to choose a number between 1 and 157 (which is where the comments were up to at that point). She chose 157. Then later I asked B. to choose a number between 1 and 163. She chose 163.
I’ll ask Mr. Random Number Generator tomorrow what the winning number is.
Oh and no sewing today. Good day though.
